Lost in Translation

 I've seen this billboard on my way to St. Louis for years and finally got a picture of it last year.  Please click the picture to enbiggen.

The old joke here is that someone mistranslated "embarazada" into "embarrassed" instead of "pregnant".  While this is entertaining enough, apparently someone finally pointed out the mistake and Birthright corrected their billboard.

Yep, they changed the Spanish word, not the English one.  I guess they are so committed to leaning into that mistake there is no going back.

I don't recall who has passed that cause the governor to order flags to be flown at half-staff.  Now, I'm no expert on the US flag code, but I don't think it requires that ALL flags are flown at half staff when ordered.  Or perhaps an elf or reindeer had a tragic accident and St. Nick requested this.  Who knows?
